Education

  • 2009 Degree in Electrical Engineering from UFRN
  • 2013 Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering

Marcus Vinícius Cavalcanti Barros has built his professional career at the intersection of engineering, well cementing and laboratory instrumentation. He earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from UFRN in 2009 and a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2013. An important part of his professional development took place within the Cement Laboratory environment at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, where he served as laboratory supervisor and participated in activities carried out for Petrobras.

His career later expanded internationally as an Application Engineer at Ametek/Chandler Engineering, where he specialized in laboratory equipment for cementing, stimulation, fluids and PVT applications. His work included after-sales and technical support activities across South America, North America, Europe and Asia.

This experience led to the creation of MB Instrumentação, founded by Marcus to provide specialized technical support for laboratories and equipment in the oil and gas sector. The company currently operates across South America, providing equipment certification according to API SPEC 10A and API RP 10B-2, preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment installation and training.

His career illustrates how scientific training, experimental experience and engagement with real engineering challenges can evolve into applied knowledge, international experience and technology entrepreneurship.
